Batote is a town and a notified area committee in Doda District in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India.

It is located on the National Highway from Udhampur to Srinagar. while driving from Udhampur it comes after the tourist spot of Patni Top, which is also its boundary with Udhampur District. After Patni top it is a sharp descent to Batote. Just before Patni top is the town of Kud. Batote has some agricultural land and is near the Chenab river.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Batote had a population of 3733. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Batote has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
