[edit] Ice Hockey Project discussion of hockey player notability and project scope
Please come join the WikiProject Ice Hockey Notability standards for hockey players discussion. I'd like to see input from all our project members who have an opinion. Thanks! ColtsScore 00:19, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Enforcer (ice hockey)
If there is an article that talks about Worrell and Laraque in the context of the new NHL, I'd certainly welcome you to readd that matterial and attribute the opinon to the article's author. Regarding the Simon/Twist business, I agree that Simon contributes more than the enforcer role. I'm confused, though, because you put Twist's name in there, and it made the article say that Twist "shows an occasional scoring flair". However, since Twist never scored more than 3 goals in a season, I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that of him. If you meant to introduce a contrast between Probert, who scored some goals in his time, and Twist, who didn't really, then you should've rewritten the sentence to say something like that. However, I don't really think it's necessary to provide an example of an enforcer who doesn't score many goals, since that's true of most of them. Croctotheface 23:57, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
OK, I understand what you were going for with Twist. Unfortunately, it's hard to really project based on ice time. If a player like Twist got 15 minutes in a game, he may or may not end up with more points. I would assume that an enforcer that gets 4 minutes of ice time is probably not getting more becaue they don't expect him to score. If you have read articles that talk about Worrell and Laraque transitioning into the new NHL, I would really like it if you could find them and cite the material you added. I actually really liked it, but I wasn't comfortable leaving it in without reliable sources. Croctotheface 04:48, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Article Improvement By Maxim Upon some discussion on the WikiProject talk page, the Article Improvement Drive page was revamped by Krm500 and Maxim. It was renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Article Improvement, and it includes two section. The first section is called articles in dire need of improvement. It list articles, usually important, that are in very poor shape. The second section is called requested help. Users list an article they request help improving a certain article, which will facilitate collaboration, which is the aim of any WikiProject. There is one article currently listed there, Henrik Lundqvist, here. The goal is to at least get it to Good article status. edit
Diacritics By Maxim In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt. edit
Task forces By Maxim This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES. This task force was initiated by Bsroiaadn. Its goal is to improve New Jersey Devils to Featured Topic status. Although it currently meets the required article count, the task force wishes to improve it further. Its area of coverage is very similar to the Sweden Ice Hockey task force. Its members are Bsroiaadn, JHMM13, FutureNJGov, Sportskido8, Michael Greiner, JRWalko, and Soxrock. edit
