User:Baslow
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When he was a young teenager, before even handheld calculators were common, Baslow dreamed of a system which would respond to user requests for information by transmitting page images over some sort of switched closed-circuit television system. It was a kind of "Tele-Books on Demand" kind of thing. He had no idea of what it would take, in detail, to make such a system work. He preferred to think that someday, somehow it WOULD be made to work. He liked to think of how his life might be changed by such a system -- hell, how the WORLD might be changed.
He never actually did anything about his idea. He toyed with the possibility of writing a short story or something but he always got distracted by other things.
