[edit] Predictions

[Wikipedia is not a crystal ball] With few exceptions, future events are prima facie unencyclopedic, because they are unverifiable until they have actually occurred. I am removing the last sentence of the article in accordance with this Wikipedia guideline.Tobycat 20:20, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

What the article really needs, and what's missing in the press coverage as well, is an explanation why a country that is in the midst of two major military operations is closing bases. A clear explanation of this would be quite encyclopaedic and helpful to puzzled readers. --Marlow4 20:36, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

This happens on a set timetable every seven years or so, regardless of what the military is involved in. Mike H [[User_talk:Mike Halterman|(Talking is hot)]] 04:26, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

The following sentence does not make logical sense and could use further clarification. How could savings be generated by an increase in services, training, etc..?

"After realignment and closure costs, more than half of the long-term annual savings is generated from a significant increase in joint military services and facilities for education, training, intelligence, medical, supply and storage management, and support for shared administrative, technical, and industrial services." --Tobycat 20:52, 15 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merge With Base Realignment And Closure?

I think we should merge this article with Base Realignment and Closure. It would fit easily as a section in the main BRAC piece. Information about other BRAC rounds could be added as well. Bbpen 15:37, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Critcism Section

I've heard that rhe Base closure and realignment program has recieved some critcism. Is it possible for anyone to put it in here?

[edit] Carlisle Barracks

The barracks and Army War College were originally listed on the first list of candidate installations for closing; however, as of 2006 the barracks will not be closing and in fact is slated for additional funding/expansion: [1], [2]

[edit] Really Different than the previous rounds

The last three items on the list comparing the differences between this round (targeted cuts, Willow Grove) and the existing rounds seem more like criticisms of this rounds selections instead of actual differences. Especially the part about NAS JRB Willow Grove. These ought to be moved down to criticisms instead —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.251.150.240 (talk) 07:58, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
