Bassnectar is an electronic music freeform project based in Berkeley, California. Primarily a music project of Lorin Ashton, Bassnectar is also accompanied by various collaborators.[1] Ashton describes Bassnectar's sound as "omni-tempo maximalism" fusing elements of midtempo Breakbeat, Big Beat, Old school hip hop and Dub, Drum and Bass, Grindcore, Hip-hop, Bluegrass, and Jazz, utilizing samples from diverse sources.[1]
