Bass River (Victoria)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bass River is a relatively short coastal river located in the Bass Coast Shire of Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The river headwaters are in the Strzelecki Ranges, north of the town of Korumburra, flowing west, then west-southwest before entering Western Port, near the town of Bass.
It was discovered by George Bass and Matthew Flinders in January 1798 on their 'whaleboat' expedition of the southeast coast of Australia.
