The Basingstoke Observer is a local newspaper for the Basingstoke and surrounding areas of north Hampshire, England. The newspaper is published weekly, and is available free for readers to 'pick up' from various shops and public outlets in and around Basingstoke. Basingstoke Property Weekly is inserted as a free supplement.

The newspaper was launched in association with local radio station Kestrel FM in 2000, and was owned by the Milestone Group until it was sold in a management buyout in September 2006, it's owners now being Tri-Media Publishing. Its weekly circulation figure is advertised as 23,000 copies.

It was a sister publication to the South Oxfordshire Courier and Oxford Journal until the Courier and Journal were put into administration in 2007.
