Basil Hayden (born May 18, 1899 in Stanford, Kentucky - died January 10, 2003 in Paris, Kentucky) was a head basketball coach at the University of Kentucky in 1927. He complied a 3-13 record, and has the distinction of coaching the last losing season at UK until 1988-1989, when Eddie Sutton coached the Wildcats to a 13-19 record
Hayden attended UK and was a former player there, becoming (in 1922) the school's first-ever All-American. After leaving coaching, he worked in the insurance and banking fields.
