Basil Dignam

Basil Dignam (b. 24 October 1905 - d. 31 January 1979) was an English character actor.

Basil Dignam, a native of Sheffield, acted on film and television between 1951 and 1975. He often appeared as an authority figure, i.e. police officer, army general or peer.

He was married to actress Mona Washbourne. His brother Mark Dignam was also a professional actor.
