[edit] Similarities to The Far Side
When I first saw a trailer for this film, I thought, "it looks like they're making a movie of The Far Side." They had the cows, the fat kids, even the old lady glasses, all basically what I would consider hallmarks of The Far Side. The art style also seems similar. I haven't seen anything indicating there is a connection though. WhiteDragon 18:18, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- you're not the only one to think it. When I saw the trailer, I immediately thought the same thing. Emb021 23 May 2006

- When I saw the trailer I was kindof reminded of Orwell's Animal Farm, anyone know if the writers really based the movie on either of these? --YankeeDoodle14 23:59, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cow/Bull gender confusion
I was wondering if anyone noticed that in the previews, some of the "cows" have male voices, yet also clearly sport udders on their stomachs? Just an interesting point if anyone wants to include it... maybe under trivia?
- I feel sorry for the animators, producers, and writers, who honestlt don't know that male cows (i.e. bulls) don't have udders and I hope they aren't too embarassed if they see this discussion. At the same time, it makes a sad statement about the quality of education these days. --Zhaleskra

- They probably do know, and simply did this for fun. --Crustaceanguy(t/co/cw) 20:37, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

- Did it for "fun"? What does that mean exactly? I mean, in a film production sense what does that really mean and how much value does that excuse hold?

- that it's a "Cartoon"? and those are inherently designed to be "fun"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.8.233 (talk) 14:09, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

- Is it true that this movie also has a few bulls in it on the farm? If so, it would seem to be proof that the people behind this movie really did think cows and bulls were different species instead of different genders of the same species. I have no watching this movie to confirm. Evan1975 02:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

- There is actually a bull in the movie, proving how dumb some people can be! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.143.70.11 (talk) 20:37, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think people are taking a cartoon a tad too seriously. While it's worth mentioning about a "male cow" it's really pushing it to argue how it "bothers people" with just a link to imdb user comments, if you look at them you could find complaints about anything and justify it, and the "bovine transamerica" comment? With no source? Are you kidding me? Axe it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.8.233 (talk) 14:05, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Animal Farm
Sure this LOOKS a lot like The Far Side but the story line seems to be loosely based on the George Orwell book, Animal Farm. I know there is now way to prove this but it makes for an interesting discussion. Didgepenguin
[edit] Barnyard or Barnyard: The Original Party Animals?
It seems to me that according the Internet Movie Database [1], the film is called Barnyard: The Original Party Animals. Could you change the article from Barnyard (film) to Barnyard: The Original Party Animals because it's got a subtitle now?
-- The film has been mislabeled with this title. The line "The Original Party Animals" is used for promotional purposes and is in fact not a part of the film's title. It should therefore be removed and the article should be renamed Barnyard which is the entire title of the film.
[edit] SpongeBob?
I just saw the movie and there was no SpongeBob short. Is this only in certain countries?

[edit] TV Show
I don't know how to add citations but here is the needed citation for the Animated series coming out next year: http://mag.awn.com/index.php?ltype=pageone&article_no=2970&page=3
[edit] Why?
Why do Otis and the others have to keep their humanlike qualities secret from the farmer? I never saw anything negative that happened when the farmer saw them having the party. 70.58.211.220
[edit] Plot
This isn't a plot summary, it is a play-by-play description of the entire movie. Is there anyone who has seen the movie that could summarise it more succintly? I can't really tell which are the major plot points and which are just events in the narrative. Andoka 06:10, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Furry Dancing thingy
what was that furry dancing thing they let out of the box? If it's already in the article i must have skipped over it. It had arms and legs but otherwise looked like a giant dustball .
I watched the movie yesterday, and the animals called him "Wild Mike". I may be wrong, but somewhere in the movie, I think, his face could be seen for a split second. It looked like a Tasmanian devil, but the writers of the movie, most likely, did not intend for him to belong to any real species, to make him look more humorous. --Crustaceanguy(t/co/cw) 19:33, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reception
There is no reception section, except for the male-cow's-udders joke. Crowstarcaws 00:15, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unlinked Actors
Is there any reason that the actor's names aren't linked to their pages? I mean, most other movie cast listings do so, I would have linked them myself, but I was thinking that their may have been a reason they weren't linked seeing as there was much much much more than enough time for someone to do so - PokeFan2006 (talk • contribs) 07:07, 1 September 2007
Nevermind, I just went ahead and linked them myself anyway - PokeFan2006 (talk • contribs) 4:24 , 2 September 2007
