I live in Barne Barton, shifted from Stonehouse by the council.I am on benefits and find the article very accurate. Most of the people living around me are on benefits.Furthermore, many are drug dealers and do steal off their immediate neighbours. Why is there an arrest made once maybe twice or more a week in this area. The article may be found to be offensive by people who don't live in Barne Barton and who believe all the 'forgotten island' tales but,as someone who lives in the area,I can say it's very accurate.

[edit] POV rant

Said to be poor by its residents, they still find the money to support all their unsavoury habits. Most of these are supported by benefits, drug dealing or stealing off their immediate neighbours. Not a day goes by when someone on a neighbouring estate isn't burgled, attacked or has his car vandalised. Most of the money and items stolen are used to fund their drug habits. Once a Naval estate, the area has now been populated with people moved from the rougher areas of Stonehouse and North Prospect. + - The police have washed their hands of the problem and allow it to continue much to the dismay of normal decent citizens.
