[edit] Creator of semantics?

Given that care should be taken with biographies of living people, I have modified the claim that Partee created modern semantics. I suspect she'd either be amused or embarassed by that claim. In reality, she is a very highly regarded fellow pioneer and contributor in the field, with many valuable publications to her name. I'm sure she'd regard Quine, Montague, Chomsky et al. as highly as we all do, and as highly as they regard / regarded her.

Do hope someone will expand this article. There's a lot of outstanding material to work with.

LOL, isn't semantics discovered rather than created? ;) Alastair Haines (talk) 06:19, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
