"The Constitution of Barbados defined citizens of Barbados as those born on the island before 1966 who were British subjects at the time of independence"
One had to be a Citizen of the UK and Colonies - rather than a British subject - to acquire Barbados citizenship. Article amended and link to Barbados constitution added.
