Bart Rathbone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bart Rathbone is a major character in the Christian-themed radio drama/comedy serial Adventures in Odyssey, voiced by Ed Walker (sometimes credited "Walker Edmiston").

[edit] Overview

Rathbone is known as a cheap and schemish businessman, always plugging "The Electric Palace", an electronics store he manages, pushing questionable sales promotions, and launching half-baked entrepreneurial ideas (such as "Rathbone's Electric Castle and Rock and Roll Instruments of Destruction" in episode #164: "Sixties-Something". He is also known for his ill-fated campaigns for the Mayorship of Odyssey. In episodes #286 & #287: "Tom for Mayor, Parts 1 & 2", he faces off against Tom Riley; in episodes #380 & #381: "The One About Trust, Parts 1 & 2", he runs against Margaret Faye.

Rathbone and his son also spent time in jail due to their negative actions during the Blackgaard saga.

Walker Edmiston died of cancer on February 15th 2007, and Bart Rathbone's voice had to be replaced. On the February 20th edition of the official podcast, a preview of an upcoming season is heard, and Bart Rathbone is heard with his new actor's voice. It is not yet known who the actor is.
