Barry Mendel is a Rye Country Day School graduate and a two time Academy Award nominated producer, who has produced various films including:

• The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) (producer)
• Unbreakable (2000) (producer)

Mendel has worked with directors such as:

• Steven Spielberg
• Wes Anderson
• M. Night Shyamalan

Mendel also has a film production company Barry Mendel Productions.

He is currently producing Inkheart based in the first novel of the saga created by Cornelia Funke
