Barry Burgan

Barry Burgan is an Associate Professor and is the Head of the Adelaide Business School. He has an honors degree in Economics and is a senior Financial Analyst. He currently teaches Business Finance, and conducted his research in Financial Evaluation and Economic Development Issues; Econometric Modelling.
Barry teaches at various levels in corporate and business finance. His research interests are in the areas of public finance issues, cost benefit evaluation (particularly in cultural industries) and regional modelling. He was previously Director of the South Australian Centre for Economic Studies and has been at the University of Adelaide for 18 years. Prior to the University, he worked as a management consultant in the public sector and still maintains an active role in consulting both private clients and the state government.
He was in the news regarding opposition by the Church to his comments that gambling was not bad for the economy, because he was a dedicated Christian.
