Barron G. Collier High School is a standard four-year (grades 9-12) high school located at 5600 Cougar Drive in unincorporated Collier County, Florida, United States, northeast of the city of Naples.

Collier was included in Newsweek's 2006 list of top U.S. high schools by Jay Mathews's Challenge Index.[1].

The school opened its doors to the first wave of students in 1978 as the third high school in the area, with the senior class graduating in Spring 1979.

Barron Collier High School is one of the seven members of the Collier County Athletic Conference. The school's official list of sports is separated by season.[2] In 2006, the Barron Collier Cougars Varsity Girls Basketball won the Class 5A state championship[citation needed]. The school also has a Lacrosse Club.[citation needed] The main athletic crosstown rivals are Naples High School, Lely High School, and Gulf Coast High School.

The Barron Collier Marching Cougar band is widely regarded as one of the state's premier high school marching bands. They have won numerous accolades and had the distinction to perform in numerous parades throughout the United States including performances in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, The Neatherlands, France, and recently China, where the band was able to perform on the Great Wall of China as well as participate in the preview ceremonies for the 2008 Olympics.[citation needed]

Barron G. Collier High School is home to many different extracurricular clubs. An accurate, up-to-date list is difficult to keep, as clubs are added and dropped as students graduate or lose interest. However, some of the notable clubs are:

The main BCHS campus consists of a large building with a small courtyard towards the east side of the building. Most of the building is on a single level, however there are several classrooms on a second floor above the media center. An auxiliary building contains the ROTC classrooms. The school also includes computer labs, two gymnasiums, a football stadium, a cafeteria with patio, a media center, a TV production studio, darkrooms, and an auditorium.

Also located on the same plot of land is the School District Administrative Building and Osceola Elementary school.
