Barrie Ciliberti (born July 27, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a professor and former Republican legislator in the Maryland House of Delegates.

Ciliberti was educated at Friends Select School in Philadelphia, graduated from Ursinus College in 1957, and went on to complete an M.A. at Georgetown University in 1960 and a Ph.D. at Catholic University in 1975.

During his legislative career he became known for his opposition to mandatory volunteerism [1] and his stance against aggressive driving.[2]

In 1985, Ciliberti was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to a member of the National Graduate Fellows Program Fellowship Board for a six-year term [3]. President Reagan also appointed Dr Ciliberti to serve as a member of the National Advisory Council on Adult Education. He has served as a guest lecturer for the U.S. Information Agency and a special assistant for ethnic affairs with the Republican National Committee.[4]

Dr Ciliberti worked with the United States Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq on election security in advance of the historic elections in Iraq on January 30, 2005.

Ciliberti is married and has five children.
