Barrett Green (born October 29, 1977 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is a current American football linebacker in the NFL. He attended West Virginia and was drafted in the second round (50th overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2000 NFL Draft, contributing as a solid starter from 2001 until 2003. He was signed by the New York Giants for the 2004 campaign, making 37 tackles in ten games. Undersized at 6'0" Green has had injury problems throughout his career, playing in all 16 games only once (in 2003) and was placed on the injured reserve for the 2005 season with an ankle injury. Green is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans.
