Barpeta Road is a city and a municipal board in Barpeta district in the state of Assam, India. It is one of the most important business places of Assam.

Barpeta Road is situated near to the 31st National Highway. It is 14Km away from Barpeta, Dist HQ of Barpeta.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Barpeta Road had a population of 35,281. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Barpeta Road has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. There are several educational schools and colleges like St. Mary's High School, Gopinath Bordoloi High School, Sajanikanta Higher Secondary School, B.H. College; a few km from it is situated Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barpeta. Barpeta Road Railway station is the nearest station, connecting the way to go to the National Wildlife Sanctuary, Manas National Park.
