Barovo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Barovo is in the southern region of the Demir Kapija municipality. It is a point on many searchable satellite or internet maps. Barovo is settled in a wooded area, rather isolated, but full of history and a baba or 2 who will be happy to share their stories, even if you only take in the hand gestures. They also make the best cup of coffee and will probably offer a jar of slako (canned sweets) for your journey. The road to Barovo is the first turn-off as you enter Demir Kapija up, towards the church. You will go and go until the road turns into a dirt path, winding past grape fields, and then straight on into the flat plains at the foothills of the Kozuf mountain. It's great for bikers, and the view as you enter the valleys are magnificent in the spring time when everything is coming into bloom.
