Baron Belstead
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Baron Belstead, of Ipswich in the County of Suffolk, was a peerage title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 27 January 1938 for the Conservative MP for Ipswich, Sir Francis Ganzoni. He had already been created a Baronet, of Ipswich, Suffolk, on 22 March 1929.
The second Baron Belstead was created a life peer as Baron Ganzoni, in order to allow him to remain in the House of Lords despite the House of Lords Act 1999, on November 17, 1999. The Barony of Belstead and Baronetcy both became extinct upon his death.
