The film is about a girl (Adjani) who is in love with a boxer (Depardieu). They plan to go abroad after making a lot of money by cheating in a match. However, the boxer is killed before the planned trip, and the killer (Depardieu too), little by little, falls in love with the girl (Adjani) who accepts him, under the condition that he adopts the appearance of her previous lover, his victim.
