[edit] History

Barnt Green Spartak were formed in 1992. The reason for their choice of a name associated with Eastern European football is unclear.

In 1997 they joined the Midland Football Combination, initially in Division Three. In the 1999–00 season they finished in eighth place but were nonetheless promoted to Division Two. In 2002–03 they were champions of Division Two and followed this up by winning the Division One title in 2003–04. This earned them a second consecutive promotion and a place in the Premier Division, where they remain to this day.[3]

[edit] Ground

Spartak returned to share Alvechurch's Lye Meadow ground in 2007-08. Previously, they had also ground-shared at Bromsgrove Rovers.[4]
