Barney Rock is an Irish gaelic footballer and played Gaelic Football for Dublin from 1979 - 1991 . He played for Ballymun Kickhams in north County Dublin. Rock is regarded as being one of the best players to play for Dublin and is considered a legend among the Dublin fans. Rock received All Stars three years in a row from 1983, when Dublin won the All-Ireland, to 1985. Rock played no. 10 for Dublin the first ever compromise rules game against Australia in 1984. In 2007 RTÉ Charity you're a star, he and his former GAA rivals, Dave Beggy and Jack O'Shea formed a team "GAA All-Stars" and won the title with extrodinary performance.
Rock was voted no. 18 in RTÉ's Top 20 GAA Moments in television history for his goal against Cork in the 1983 All-Ireland semi final.
