Barnardiston

Barnardiston is a village and civil parish in the St Edmundsbury district of Suffolk, England.According to Eilert Ekwall the meaning of the village name is Beornheard's homestead or enclosure. The Domesday Book records the population of Barnardiston in 1086 to be 8. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 206. The village is located about three miles north-east of Haverhill.

Barnadiston is also the location of one of only thirty two scheduled ancient monuments in Suffolk, the moats of a medieval rectory [1]
