Bare (woreda)

Bare is one of the 47 woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Afder Zone, Bare is bordered on the south by Somalia, on the southwest by Dolobay, on the northwest by Afder, on the north by Mirab Imi, and on the east by Shebelle River which separates it from the Gode Zone. The major town in Bare is Bare.

This woreda is primarily inhabited by the Darod clan of the Somali people.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 99,832, of whom 43,545 were males and 56,287 were females; 7,654 or 7.67% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 8.6%. Information is not available for the area of Bare, so its density cannot be calculated.[1]
