Barcode World (バーコードワールド?) is a video game software developed by Epoch and published by Sunsoft. It was released only in Japan on December 18, 1992 for the Famicom. It was inspired by the classic Barcode Battlers series, which entertained young preadolescent males in Japan and North America for years. The object is to acquire the best barcodes so that the player(s) can create the perfect battle character. Parents would cut out the barcodes out of their groceries so that their children would have something to fight with. Some barcodes were very strong, others were medium strength, and a select few were very weak. Sunsoft also developed and released cards that feature characters from other Sunsoft video game titles.
