Barbigha is a city and a notified area in Sheikhpura district in the state of Bihar, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Barbigha had a population of 38,258. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Barbigha has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 63% of the males and 37% of females literate. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Barbigha is surround by many villages like Sare, Babanbigha, More, Khojagachchi etc. This is situated at the road linking Biharsarif and Sheikhpura. The great poet Shri Ramdhari Singh (Dinkar) was also taught in Barbigha high school.
Barbigha is mostly Bhumihar Brahmin dominted area. This is reserved seat for Lok Sabha as well as State Assembly. The first chief minister of Bhihar was also from this police station. The village More is approx 2 KM East of Barbigha on left of the road going from Biharsarif to Sheikhpura. Pranawan villege is approx 7 km north of Barbigha, mostly famous for a mathh of Mahto Baba ji.
