[edit] Plot
Barbie stars as Princess Clarette. A magnificent celebration is held for her birth, at which all royalty and non-royalty are invited, most notably the seven fairies Rosal, Daisy, Marigold, Dahlia, Lilac, Jasmine, and Lavender, each of whom bestow upon a princess a special gift. When the last fairy, Lavender, is still thinking what gift to give, the evil witch Grimilda appears and curses Clarette so that when she turn sixteen, she shall prick her finger on spinning wheel and die. Lavender manages to counter the spell, so that when Clarette pricks her finger, she will sleep instead of die. Even so, the King orders all the spinning wheels in the kingdom to be burnt.
After sixteen years, Princess Clarette discovers a magical new land where she meets the seven fairies and other friends. Unknown to her is that Grimilda intends to defeat the seven fairies, who are her sisters. When Prince Ricardo visits their paradise, Clarette falls in love with him.
