Barberino di Mugello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 25 km north of Florence. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 10,114 and an area of 133.7 km².[1]
The municipality of Barberino di Mugello contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Cavallina (2500 abitanti circa), Galliano, Montecarelli, and Latera.
Barberino di Mugello borders the following municipalities: Calenzano, Cantagallo, Castiglione dei Pepoli, Firenzuola, San Piero a Sieve, Scarperia, Vaiano, Vernio.
