Barbatia is a genus of ark clams, in the family Arcidae. These shells are elongate oval, or quadrilateral, sculptured with fine, closely spaced radial ribs, and covered by a coarse, often tufted, periostracum. The hinge line is long, almost straight, and the teeth are numerous. Widely distributed in tropical and temperate seas.
