American artist and illustrator; perhaps best known for her cover-art for Ballantine Books first paperback edition of J. R. R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings. The popularity of the artwork led to a large edition of the poster, as well as work for similar genre fiction, such as The Worm Ouroboros by Eric Rücker Eddison. She often signed her work "BRem" rather than using her full name.

An interview with Remington mentions interesting aspects of her association with The Lord of the Rings including:

• Tolkien couldn't understand why there were pumpkins in a tree in her illustration, and why a lion appeared at all. (The lions were removed from the cover of later editions.)
• She had not been able to get ahold of the books at the time of making the illustration, and had only a sketchy idea from friends what it was about.
• She's now a huge Tolkien fan, and would have "have definitely drawn different pictures", had she read the books first. "[1]

She has also illustrated a number of children's books.

Born in Minnesota, she now resides in northeastern Pennsylvania.
