From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Barbara McGregor is an Australian based master teacher of Reiki. She was trained to teach Reiki in 1984-1989, during her travelling apprenticeship with Rev. Beth Gray, who commenced teaching reiki in 1973 after training with Hawayo Takata in California. Barbara McGregor has authorised Reiki teachers Keven Duff and Sue Lake-Harris to maintain the authentic teachings inspired by Dr Mikao Usui with the Usui Reiki Network internationally.

Accordingly, two levels of healing application are taught: Reiki I – basic, experiential, interactive hand-on techniques; and Reiki II – advanced, including distant healing and development of telepathic activity. The seminars cover each level in 20-hour programmes. Professional practitioner guidelines include a recommended regime of training review, case history recording and practice. Teacher training involves a minimum five year apprenticeship, healing practice and service.

Barbara has personally trained over 15,000 graduates on three continents – Australia, Asia and Europe. She established the Usui Reiki Network, first in Australia in 1990, followed by Hong Kong in 1991, Singapore in 1992 and England in 1993. The network is run from ten centres with regional coordinators and support groups. World service healing, intensive retreats, group meditation and practice are facilitated within the network.

Additionally, Barbara was the founder of WellBeing magazine and publishes the annual Astrolog metaphysical almanac as well as ‘Reiki Happenings’ newsletter for graduate members of the Usui Reiki Network. She is a registered natural therapist with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and has Cert. IV Workplace Training and Assessment accreditation.
