Barbara Ewing

Barbara Ewing (born 1944) is a New Zealand film and television actress and novellist. Much of her success has been in Great Britain.
Born and educated in New Zealand, she trained as an actress at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London in 1965. She made her film debut in the horror film Torture Garden (1967), directed by Freddie Francis for Amicus Productions. Then she was in Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968) with Christopher Lee, also directed by Francis, for Hammer Films.
One of her best known television roles was Agnes Fairchild in the Granada comedy series Brass (1982-84). She also appeared in Comrade Dad (1986).
More recent appearances include episodes of Casualty, Doctors and Holby City on the BBC, and The Bill and Peak Practice on ITV. She has also appeared in TV adaptations of Ruth Rendell mysteries.
