Barbara Dawson Smith is an American writer of romance novels since 1985. She is winner of the 2002 Romance Writers of America award and has published at least 24 romance novels.[1]

Barbara Dawson Smith is an American historical romance novelist. Her debut book, No Regrets, was published in 1985 and won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart Award. In all, Smith has written twenty-four books, which have garnered numerous awards, including the Best Historical Romantic Suspense for Dreamspinner (1990) and Best Regency Historical for A Glimpse of Heaven (1995) from Romantic Times and the RITA Award for Tempt Me Twice, Her novels have also been finalists for the National Readers’ Choice Award, Romance of the Year by Affaire de Coeur magazine, the Golden Quill, Booksellers' Best Award and the RITA Award

She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, their two daughters and two cats.[2]
