Barabaig
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Barabaig are an ethnic and linguistic group based in the northern volcanic highlands near Mount Hanang in Tanzania. The Barabaig are a subgroup of the Datoga ethnic group, and speak a dialect of the Datoga language [1].
Many Barabaig were forcibly evicted from the Basotu Plains in the 1990s to make room for a large-scale wheat growing project of the Canadian and Tanzanian governments[2].
