Bar/None Records

Bar/None Records is an independent record label based out of Hoboken, New Jersey.
The label was founded by Tom Prendergast in early 1986 as a logical progression from Pier Platters, an indie record shop in Hoboken. The first release on the label was by Rage To Live, whose leader, Glenn Morrow, quickly became a partner in the label.
Bar/None's most notable signing may be They Might Be Giants (Bar/None released their their first two albums (They Might Be Giants and Lincoln) in 1986 and 1988, respectively, as well as several singles and EPs, prior to the band's signing with Elektra Records in 1989).
