Bar Juchne is a colossal bird which was believed to have a wingspan large enough to blot the sun out. The first mentioning of the creature comes from an excerpt of the Talmud; the Jewish holy book, in which an account of a Bar Juchne egg falling from its nest is described. Due mainly to the size of the egg, when it landed, several hundred trees were destroyed, and 60 villages were flooded. Although no modern accounts of the creature have yet been reported, due to its purported size, the Bar Juchne has often been compared to the Arabian Roc, Anka, and the North American Thunderbird. A noted possible explanation is that these creatures, like the African Kongamato, may all be relic species' of Pterosaur.
