The Baptist University College is the newest university college to be established in Ghana. It is located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Its establishment in November 2006 was announced by the Ghana Baptist Convention.[1] The university has been granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board.[2] Certification by the University of Cape Coast is under negotiation.[2]

The university has been formed partly from the Ghana Baptist Seminary at Abuakwa. This institution is already affiliated to the University of Ghana through its Department for the Study of Religions.[3]
[edit] Campus
The university has two campuses.[1] They are:
- City Campus - Amakom, a suburb of Kumasi
- Abuakwa campus - Abuakwa in the Atwima Mponua district.
- The Ghana Baptist Seminary at Abuakwa is part of the new university.
Other campuses are to be opened in other regions of the country in the near future.
