In the United States of America, there are legally two types of segregation: de jure segregation and de facto segregation.
De jure segregation is segregation by law. This no longer exists in the United States.
De facto segregation is literally segregation in fact. It is when a specific racial minority is segregated economically, politically, by public policy and/or by soical practice.
It is not considered segregation when a particular minority is doing well economically.
