Template talk:BannerShell

Tricky! But shouldn't the individual banners be made compliant rather than do this? Not that I'm complaining, mind you! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 21:45, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

I view it as a temporary hack while some but not all of the project templates are compliant, particularly WPBIO. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 22:07, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Yeh - it's been agreed to do so, but hasn't been done yet. <sigh>. Nice work on this :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 22:49, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not just for WikiProject banners

In the light of the previous comment, I believe the main permanent use for this is for banners that are not WikiProject banners. It is therefore very unfortunate that this template always inserts the part "WikiProject". This is especially unfortunate since the name of the template does not imply that it's only for WikiProject banners. Since, moreover, this behavior is not documented, I will therefore insert a new parameter {{{text}}} which, when defined, overrides {{{topic}}}. This change is downward compatible, so there should be no problems with it. Moreover, currently no talk page is transcluding this template. — Sebastian 20:33, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
