[edit] Assessment

A nice start, but a bit short. Take a look at Bank of England for an example of how it can be done. Longer, more thorough introduction paragraph. (The Bank of Japan is Japan's central bank" is concise, and says pretty much all that needs to be said, but it's also disconcerting and unattractive in its brevity.) More extensive discussion of the history, and the functioning of the bank.

[edit] Base Borrowing Rate?

What is this "Base Borrowing Rate", and is it meant to be different from the official interest rate of 0.5%? 81.98.241.27 (talk) 10:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
