Talk:Banchory Academy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Banchory Academy is among the better public (state) schools in Scotland, and performs consistently well amongst the older years, with a large number of pupils staying on to do Highers before progressing to University." --- Care to back this up with any sort of citation? [edit] Multiple Issues Tagged
This article appears to have relatively little encyclopaedic content about the school, cites no references (WP:VERI), and has degenerated somewhat into a forum for posting negative press (WP:NPOV), and needs a good tidy up! Have removed obviously incorrect or WP:VAND material and tagged for cleanup. Seajay (talk) 10:31, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Given the large sections of content in this article under Banchory in the news and The Coffee Bar that are really WP:SOAP or at the very least WP:OR or WP:NPOV, I would propose removing these sections. They are not really helpful in describing Banchory Academy itself - they are simply describing some recent events that took place there. This article really should have more information about the Academy itself, have a look at Scotch College, Perth, a recent featured article on the schools portal as an example of good practice for school encyclopedia articles.
- As stated in WP:NOT, "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information; merely being true or useful does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in an encyclopedia.". If no-one else tidies this up in the next few weeks I will remove a lot of this stuff. Seajay (talk) 07:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
