This is about the sub-clan of Quraish, for the tribe see Banu Tamim.

Banu Taym or Banu Taim is a sub-clan to the Quraish tribe.

They come from Taym ibn Murrah.

Sa'id Akhtar Rizvi, a 21st century Shi'a Twelver Islamic scholar writes:

“ ...since the day of saqifah the Banu Hashim and Banu Taym felt nothing but enmity towards each other [3]. ”
