Bantwa is a city and a municipality in Junagadh district in the state of Gujarat, India.

As of the 2001 India census,[1] Bantwa had a population of 15,216. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bantwa has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bantwa is the fastest growing city in the whole saurastra area and especially in the junagadh district.

Bantwa was a main hub 50 years ago for the trade of nuts and cotton. In 1947 after the Partition of India most of the Memon business man ommunity (Muslim), migrated to Pakistan. In Karachi now there is the strong financial community known as Batwa Memon.
