Born Tshepo Motshegoa, in Temba, north of the city of Tshwane, Bantusoul is the latest house singing sensation in South Africa. The former member of the soul group Khalil has been receiving good airplay on the radio and good response on the dance floor.
Already he has launched (2008) a live band that he performs with - adding to his array of performing with a DJ and dancers.
His song "I get low" aka "Even though" has been remixed by on-form DJ/Producer Black Coffee and has been released worldwide. The track has been endorsed by heavyweights such as Franck Roger of realtone records.
Another tracks in the album include the hit song "Having your around", "No fear", "Loveback" and other tracks.
Bantusoul's strength also lies in his creativity in his productions. He has worked with Art-Jones (of "listen to you soul" fame) among other producers. With the house scene becoming more and more "tech" he has maintained the true soul of house music with meaningful and spiritual lyrics. "when You stay with me, what shall I fear?" from his "No fear" anthem is one such example.
A second album is planned for the end of 2008 to follow on the success of his 2007 debut album.
