SA Banksys NV is a Belgian company created in 1989 and specializes in electronic payment. On20 July 2006, Banksys and Bank Card Company have been bought by Atos Origin from 4 of their principal shareholders in Belgian banking sector Dexia, Fortis, ING, KBC.
Banksys was founded in 1989 through the merger of two Belgian payment networks: Mister Cash and Bancontact. All major Belgian commercial banks are shareholders of Banksys.
Banksys authorizes, secures, and guarantees electronic payments in Belgium. Building on this experience and its know-how in the areas of secure payment and innovation, Banksys also develops electronic payment terminals, payment applications, and security modules for the international markets.
Banksys has direct experience with every component of a complete payment system. World-class engineering teams incorporate security into Banksys systems from the initial research to the final product. For Banksys and their customers security is considered to be a high priority at every stage of a transaction - from the retail terminal to the central server (HOST).
