The Bank of Ghana is the central bank of Ghana. It is located in Accra and was formed in 1957. Its name is abbreviated to BOG.
[edit] History
The history of the Bank of Ghana began with the Bank of the Gold Coast (BCG). During the 1950s, as independence approached, politicians and economists built the idea of forming a central bank. In 1957, 2 days before the declaration of independence, the Bank of Ghana Ordinance was passed in the British Parliament and the BOG was established.
