Bank of Canada (commercial)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bank of Canada was formed in the 19th century as one of the many early banks in Canada. However, it ceased operations in 1858 and the charter for the bank was bought by William McMaster in 1866 and renamed the Canadian Bank of Commerce, later became CIBC.
It is not to be mistaken for the Bank of Canada, the current central bank which was established by the Bank of Canada Act in 1934.
